Benton Air Faire Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering is a great way to see and experience this once a year event by helping put on the show!
Volunteers supporting gate admissions will be responsible for onsite ticket sales and ticket validation. Volunteers may also be asked to respond to questions and direct customers as required. Direct other volunteers checking-in to appropriate “Check In” Station to receive t-shirt and sign-in. Volunteers with an outgoing, customer focused attitude will have the most success.
Parking Lot Marshallers
Responsible for ensuing parking lots are operated safely and efficiently, including providing direction to show guests. Direct traffic and guide show guests to parking lot stalls. Work outside during the schedule shift. Volunteers with the ability to follow directions is an asset, as well as being comfortable working in and around moving vehicles.
Plane Ride Booth
Volunteers supporting Plane Ride booth will be responsible for onsite ticket sales and ticket validation. Volunteers will help escort guest riders to/from the aircraft in a safe manner. Volunteers will give a safety brief to each “flight” and ensure they board and exit the aircraft in a safe manner. Volunteers may also be asked to respond to questions and direct customers as required.
Working under the supervision of the “Ground Boss” volunteer marshallers will Open/Close the crowd ropes and traffic delineators and find T’s for the planes to park on as they fly in. Volunteers may be required to safely guide and push aircraft into and out of parking spots and and move the cones/ropes and walk the wings to avoid any aircraft damage on the ground.
Raffle Ticket Booth
Raffle Ticket Sales “3 for $5.00” or an arm length for $20.00 Winners need not be present to win. Winner will be contacted Sunday afternoon/evening. Volunteers must be outgoing and willing to engage with passerbys to actively sell the raffle tickets.
Flight Training/Aviation Scholarship booth
Volunteers supporting our Flight Training/Aviation Scholarship booth will provide information regarding our ground school program, online Cessna training program, as well as information regarding our scholarship program and application process. The ideal volunteer will be a pilot and able to answer how to get started questions.
Pancake Breakfast, BBQ Lunch
Volunteers will be trained on how to prep and cook scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, and OJ and Coffee. SOme volunteers will work the prep positions making the pancake batter, etc, others will cook and others will serve. At the end of the serving window volunteers will be needed to clean the grills and utensils and put the supplies and tools away in containers.
